The best snowmobile trails in New England are in Vermont, and the best trails in Vermont are in the Northeast Kingdom.
The Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST) currently provides 3,549 miles of groomed trails and more than
1,500 miles of secondary and feeder trails throughout the Green Mountain State. Vermont's snowmobiling capital is Island Pond, just 25 minutes from East Burke,
with trail connections linking in all directions.
There are 157 local snowmobile clubs. To ride in Vermont, just purchase a trail pass for your legally registered snowmobile through a local club and you're on your way.
A typical snowmobile season in Vermont runs from December 1 through April 1. Riders who have been coming to The Kingdom for many years say it is the best snowmobiling anywhere.
