You won't run out of things to do on your vacations to the Burke area! After enjoying the area Recreation, the

Burke area offers. Even though the Burke area is off the beaten path, it is still home to some nationally recogized stars, like Stephen Huneck's Dog Mountain,

Burke Mountain Club House

Completed in 1920, the Burke Mountain Club House sits in the center of East Burke village. The building serves as a community center and houses the East Burke Community Library.
The structure is a beautiful example of the period architecture, and is handsomely furnished with historical items. The White Schoolhouse Museum, which was a one-room school from 1817 until 1894, sits on the Clubhouse grounds.

Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium

The Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium offers superb natural science collections housed in a landmark Victorian building. It holds the largest and most comprehensive
collection of New England fauna and flora in a museum north of Boston, and has significant collections of rocks and minerals, gems, shells, corals, butterflies, Arctic insects, New England bird nests and egg sets. It collection of mounted hummingbirds is one of the most diverse in the world.
The Planetarium is the only public planetarium in the state of Vermont. Planetarium shows are held on the weekends throughout the year and every day in July and August.

Catamount annually presents an extensive series of performances at venues throughout Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, bringing in nationally known touring artists as well as accomplished local performers.

Old Stone House Museum

Originally a school dormitory, this monumental granite structure was built in the 1830’s by our nation’s first African-American college graduate, Alexander Twilight.
