If you're looking for a place that holds all the charm of a quintessential Vermont village yet offers the modern
conveniences of today, you'll want to discover East Burke and the villages that make up Burke, Vermont.
Rolling hills, crystal clear streams,
deciduous and conifer forests, and pastures dotted with wildflowers define the landscape. The terrain is variable, making it perfect for
a variety of year-round outdoor recreation. Popular choices include alpine skiing at Burke Mountain Ski Resort, mountain biking and cross-country
skiing on the Kingdom Trails network, snowmobiling on VAST trails, snowshoeing, hiking, road biking, swimming, fall foliage viewing, kayaking and canoeing. Nearby,
visitors can enjoy ice climbing and exciting backcountry skiing.
Burke is made up of 3 villages: East Burke, Burke Hollow, and West Burke.
East Burke, Vermont is home to Kingdom Ridge Condos as well as a number of spectacular attractions. Burke Mountain Ski Resort and Kingdom Trails
are both located in East Burke, and VAST snowmobile trails criss-cross the village. East Burke offers a variety of dining, including homemade pizzas
and sandwiches from Bailey's and Burke Country Store, casual pub-fare at the Pub Outback, and fine dining at
the River Garden Cafe and the Tamarack Grill.
Small shops can be found in the village, including the notable East Burke Sports and Bailey's and Burke Country Store. The historic Burke Mountain Clubhouse and Library,
with its grandstand gazebo and beautifully tended grounds (the flowers in summer are gorgeous!), form the centerpiece for the vilage.
Burke Hollow and West Burke are dotted with farms and village homes. Both villages are well-traveled for fall-foliage viewing.
Burke Hollow is home to the Burke Town School, and West Burke houses the town offices. Although there are no businesses in Burke Hollow,
West Burke offers lodging at B&B's, dining, gasoline, and groceries. West Burke is the gateway to Crystal Lake and Lake Willoughby and is a popular stop
for snowmobiliers on the VAST trail.
Burke is located in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, the rural and picturesque northeastern corner of Vermont state. The Northeast Kingdom is bordered
by Canada to the north, New Hampshire to the east, the Stowe/Burlington, Vermont region to the west, Montpelier, VT (the state capital) to the south-west,
